When you arrive, people will greet you with the gift of stopping time. They stop it with their radiance and friendliness. How many times have I been there within the walls of Marinai and thought: how I wish I never had to leave? You love it so much that you want to stay there forever.
Tom, Katya, Chiara and Jan make the experience unique. Not only do they make you admire the beautiful Panzano countryside, but they make you dance to Mozart’s notes in the cellar. In the tasting room, the glasses clinking makes you feel their wines’ wonderful opera.
As you swirl the glass, the wine sings melodic notes that give you goosebumps from the thousand emotions you feel while tasting it.

The score
The Rosé, the Chianti Classico, the Riserva, the Gran Selezione, the Conca d’Oro, the Kadar, the Guerrante and the Private Collection are on the score. There is one pairing in particular that Tom taught me about the Private Collection and the Epoisses cheese. The two marry harmoniously; they seem made for each other. The Collezione Privata is the key that unlocks the heart of the Epoisses Occasionally, they stop by my place to get the Epoisses to pair with the wine.
Traditions and friends
If you happen to be in Panzano during the wheat threshing period, you must see the party at Renzo’s. The coolest part? Seeing that they want to keep the traditions, you will find the vintage threshing machine and even the workers dressed a bit like they used to be. There is something magical about that corner of the golden basin where friends and neighbours help each other. Perhaps I notice it more because I have experienced it several times and I know well the people who live in that place. For me, it will always be the golden basin of my heart.
People make wine, and when I taste Renzo Marinai’s wine, I feel a thousand emotions that warm my heart.
