Description
Barolo La Serra 2018 emerges from the glass with a playful bouquet of dark red fruits, tar, smoke, licorice, spice and new leather. Notes of rose petals, typical of this site near La Morra, are complemented by subtle notes of strawberry and raspberry, resulting in a wonderfully elegant and subtle whole, an attractive and extremely elegant Barolo that is hard to beat for finesse, purity and length.
Italian winemaker Alberto Voerzio masters this red wine with sensitivity and intuition in the flowery, sunny landscape of Piedmont.
It is produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the ”La Serra” Cru. The wine ages 24 months in French barriques: 25% new wood and 75% used wood.
It is clear to the eye, ruby red with garnet hues.
The nose presents warm and deep blackberry and black currant notes, well integrated into a woody note, later revealing floral notes of rose and violet with a spicy and balsamic finish. In the mouth it is full-bodied, soft, intense and persistent.
