Description
Barolo Margheria shows a beautiful deep ruby color and a complex, persuasive nose with touches of red berry fruit and spices. in the mouth, it succeeds admirably in combining sumptuous richness of fabric with surprising complexity, a sour cherry of great pulpiness; the finish is long and corresponding, just warmed by excellent alcoholic power.
Harvested in mid-October and the grapes picked by hand into perforated baskets for transport to the winery. The grape yield per hectare is 80 quintals.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks thermoregulated at 28c with frequent daily pumping over for a total of 12-15 days. At the end of tumultuous fermentation is followed by submerged cap fermentation for 15 days to have complete extraction of tannins and aromas. The wine is placed in new 20-hectoliter oak barrels where it remains for 5 years.
