Description
Curlan Chardonnay grapes come from 2 plots in the Girlan subzone on the Gschleier and Schreckbichl hills. The 20- to 25-year-old vines grow on light, well-ventilated, gravel-rich soils formed by moraine deposits on volcanic porphyritic rock.
After immediate whole cluster pressing, the must is clarified from the lees by natural sedimentation. After alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation and aging on the lees for 12 months in first- and second-passage barriques, the wine is aged for another 8 months in steel vats, also on the lees, and 12 months in the bottle.
Intense golden yellow color with aromas of citrus, peach and a salty finish. The wine is very elegant and has a complex structure with beautiful freshness and flavor. The ending is long and persistent.
This wine perfectly accompanies refined dishes of both fish and white meats.
