Curlan Pinot Noir Riserva 2019 – Girlan
112,00 €
Pinot Noir Riserva “Curlan” is a great Alto Adige red wine endowed with elegance, structure and intensity. It ages for about 20 months in barrique, a long period that allows it to acquire intense and evolved notes of wood, spices and ethereal touches that frame a varietal ptof black cherry, wild strawberries and plum. The sip is voluminous, majestic and persuasive, with still young tannins. A red to be evolved in the cellar.

Description
Pinot Noir and Girlan, now synonymous! The fantastic winemaker Gerhad Kofler, after years of extensive research and countless wine-making trials of very small quantities of wine, enthusiastically dragged ‘Girlan’ into the ‘Pinot Noir’ adventure.
Grapes for Curlan come from 3 selected plots in the “Girlan” subzone, 500m above sea level. The vineyards face east and west, respectively, and cover a total area of 1.2 hectares. The 20- to 25-year-old vines grow on poor, gravelly soils formed by moraine deposits on volcanic porphyritic rock. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in barrels for 20 months and then rests in bottles for another 18 months.
Deep ruby red in color, with aromas of berries, black cherries and a pronounced herbal spiciness. A wine that is both elegant and voluminous. It has a complex structure with well-developed, savory tannins. Excellent with aged cheeses.
