Description
Castello dei Rampolla’s 2009 Castello dei Rampolla’s d’Alceo is a bright, rich ruby-purple red.
D’Alceo fully reflects the characteristics of the vineyard from which it comes. Intense, warm, refined and elegant. Well-ripened red fruit combines perfectly with notes of mild cigar and tobacco.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot makes this a rich and generous red with spice, meat and berries. Full body with round, velvety tannins.
The nose opens with smoky mineral notes, then lots of fatty fruit, elderberries and blackberries, inviting. The palate shows polish, opens with lots of fine, rich tannin, builds to long, lots of juicy fruit, rich pressure on the finish.
