Pistus is an Etnean red wine made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes from vines that are more than 10 years old and are trained using the traditional alberello system, which preserves the landscape and soils.
The name of the wine refers to the word “pounded,” as is the feeling of the Etnean man after a day of hard work. The volcanic soil type is incredibly mineral. This gives the wines an austere, elegant but also wild and spontaneous character. A wine of the “muntagna,” intense, unique, balanced, fresh.
