Description
This wine smells of orange and lemon peel, quince, candied orange peel and juicy apricots, also pepper, nutmeg, light tobacco, turmeric and some rose.
On the palate the Steinrubler, despite the ripe notes of stone fruit, mango, yellow plums and citrus, but above all this wine is bright and lively, full of tension and a mineral acidity that makes one almost completely forget the 37 grams of sugar. Alcohol, often a problem with Alsatian Gewürztraminers, is also very moderate here at 13 percent and barely noticeable. Wine seems almost rampant. However, it has power and body, showing a tart and barely bitter side of lemon zest and kumquat alongside the fruit, and at the same time the wine coats the palate creamily. This is a very powerful performance.
