Il Marchesale 2019 – Terre del Marchesato
The elegance of this terroir is immediately noticeable at the first sip of Marchesale, the banner of Terre del Marchesato. It was initially born as a pure Syrah, distinguishing itself year by year for its elegance and refinement.
Since the 2017 vintage, it has become DOC Bolgheri Superiore, which is why it is blended with the other three grape varieties representative for the Bolgheri territory: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot; creating a perfect combination that results in an elegant but strongly enveloping and balanced wine.

Marchesale 2019 Terre del Marchesato’s nose initially reveals hints of ripe black fruit such as blackberry currant, then balsamic notes where a nice hint of mint stands out, followed by spicy notes of black pepper, concluding with citrus and bergamot.
The olfactory sensations of black fruits are confirmed, a very pleasant mentholate, notes of bitter cocoa, a nice structure, it stretches to the center of the mouth saturating it pleasantly. Long ending.
Harvesting is done by hand in small crates, the clusters are sorted first in the vineyard then on the sorting table in the winery, followed by destemming and soft crushing.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in conical steel vats at a controlled temperature between 24° / 26° C for one week followed by 10 / 15 days of maceration essential to extract colors, aromas and tannins.
