Description
Montevertine Le Pergole Torte IGT 2018 is made from carefully selected Sangiovese grapes and is aged for about 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels and about 12 months in Allier barriques.
First produced in the 1977 vintage, it was the first pure Sangiovese vinified in the Radda in Chianti area. The grapes come from the historic vineyards planted between 1968 and 1999. Matures for one year in Allier barriques and one year in Slavonian oak barrels.
Montevertine Le Pergole Torte IGT 2018 presents itself to the eye as a deep red with violet hues.
Intense aromas of cooked red fruit , dried flowers, vanilla and oriental spices.
The palate is extremely elegant and fine, with velvety tannins and good acidity. The finish is long and mineral with returning notes of black cherry and dehydrated sour cherries.
Excellent with roasted red and white meats, noble poultry, game, cheeses.
