Description
Marko Fon’s Istrian Malvasia is a dynamic and elegant white wine made from pure Malvasia grapes that come from vines found on the red lands of the Karst.
Malvasia grapes come from the vineyard called “of the 4 States.” A 100-year-old vineyard that is located in Gorjansko, still trained on free-range, and so named because of the four passages of witness it has witnessed. Marko Fon’s wines enhance the fruit, they can excite, with an authentic sip that is an expression of the grape variety and the terroir.
After manual destemming, fermentation is spontaneous with only indigenous yeasts and a short maceration on the skins between 24 and 48 hours. Devatting and aging in steel tanks for 12 months. It is not filtered before bottling.
Fon’s Malvasia is a golden yellow color. The nose is elegant with citrus, honey and spicy notes. On the sip it is enveloping, warm, dynamic, characterized by a nice freshness. The ending is long and persistent. A great wine, extremely pleasant and with a nice drinkability.
