Description
The idea of having a company of their own stems from their desire to shape, through their work, something that represents them. The intent was to find a place where they could create a small winery with a big goal: to produce an “authentic wine” resulting from the connection of the land with the work of man.
Finding the right place was not at all easy, two years of research in various parts of Tuscany, many places seen and possibilities explored but nothing that convinced them all the way. Then in 2000 a hill with land that had been abandoned for more than 10 years was offered to them almost as a joke, land that no one had been interested in for a long time now.
Campinuovi is located in an area geographically defined as “high hills,” with elevation differences ranging from 350 to 465 m above sea level. The peculiarity of our vineyards is the great variability of soils for such a small area. In just under 10 hectares of vineyards, they range from marls and clay shales, through sandstones, to iron- and limestone-matrix conglomerates. This variability in soil composition contributes to enriching the aromatic complexity of our wines, first and foremost Sangiovese, as each soil reflects its characteristic minerality in the wine.
