Girlan Winery’s Pinot Noir Reserve “Flora” is a red wine that reveals juicy and fresh fruit, representing one of the most widely used grape varieties in the world in the production of red wines. The historic and well-known Girlan winery makes many labels based on this grape variety, enhancing the terroir and trying to tell in sips every perceptible nuance. One of the winery’s goals is to revalue ancient South Tyrolean grape varieties such as Vernatsch, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir while always taking care to safeguard the traditions of the past in modern production processes.

The “Flora” reserve from the South Tyrolean winery Girlan is made from pure Pinot Noir grapes from 3 subzones: “Girlan,” “Mazon,” and “Pinzon.” The vineyards are located at an elevation between 380 and 530 meters above sea level and come from moraine deposits on volcanic porphyritic rock on the one hand, and west-facing clay limestone soils on the other. The grapes are harvested by hand, and after destemming, the must ferments in temperature-controlled steel vats. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 12 months in barriques and small wooden barrels before resting in bottles for an additional 6 months.

Girlan Pinot Noir Riserva “Flora” dresses the glass with a bright ruby-red coat that introduces intense aromas of berries, black cherry, cherry and sweet spices. The sip reveals a tasty and velvety entry marked by fine tannins that accompany toward a balanced and harmonious closure.
