45,00 €
Valtellina Superiore Riserva Sassella DOCG from the Balgera winery is the result of traditional vinification in wood, with spontaneous fermentation and indigenous yeasts. Grapes are harvested by hand on the steep terraced soils within the Sassella subzone. After a long aging of as much as 10 years in wood, an elegant and evolved red wine with hints of dark fruits and mountain herbs is obtained.

Description
Valtellina Superiore “Sassella” Riserva comes from vineyards west of Sondrio, located 200-500 meters above sea level, with southern and southeastern exposure and part of the “Sassella” subzone.
Grapes are picked by hand and selected, fermentation, with maceration for 10-12 days, is spontaneous, and maturation takes place in oak barrels for 2 years and small barrels for an equal 2 years. Valtellina Superiore DOCG “Sassella” Riserva from Cantine Balgera finally rests in the bottle for about 12 months.
To the eye, bright garnet red color. The nose relaxes on raspberry and wildflower scents, with hints of hazelnut and mineral hints. The sip is sumptuous and elegant: silky tannins, fresh yet rounded profile. Harmonious and fine finish.
Valtellina Superiore Sassella Riserva from Balgera goes well with red meats and aged cheeses. Excellent with jugged hare.
