Sauvignon Fumé 2020 – Weingut Abraham
Weingut Abraham Winery’s Sauvignon ‘Fumé’ is a white wine that, as you might guess from its name, is characterized by sophisticated smoky notes, due in part to its aging in wood and in part to the mineral-rich soil, quartz porphyry and slate mica in which the vines from which it comes are rooted.
Soft, structured and persistent on the palate, the typical notes of Sauvigon are not lost but are supported and enriched by smoky nuances, making this wine the ideal companion for dinners based on important first and second courses of fish.

Sauvignon “Fumé” is an expression that harkens back to the great French terroirs of the noble white berry and which Weingut Abraham rightly appropriates: a white that is born on the rocks, within a particularly suited territory and lets all its powerful mineral finesse shine through.
Sauvignon “Fumé” Weingut Abraham has an intense straw-yellow color with distinctly golden highlights.
Due to the special winemaking method, Sauvignon Fumé has ‘smoky’ aromas in addition to the typical aromas of the grape variety. Sauvignon Fume is characterized by smoky, yeasty aromas and comes across on the palate as a complex, full-bodied, vibrant white wine with a lingering finish.
After maceration for about 24 hours, the must is carefully pressed. Fermentation in 500-liter oak barrels with natural yeasts follows. About 20 percent of the total amount ferments on the skins for about 4 weeks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged on full yeasts for 16 months.
