Description
The “Turpino” owes its name to one of the characters in the grandiose poem written by Ludovico Ariosto, Orlando Furioso.
It is a blend of a cabernet franc, syrah and merlot that encompasses the best of the production of the different territories owned by Querciabella: in fact, the grapes of this Toscana Rosso IGT come from both the vineyards present in Chianti and those located in Maremma.
Cold macerated, the grapes ferment at a controlled temperature and then undergo malolactic fermentation and age in barriques for 16 months. Thanks to the perfect balance of different soils and microclimates, the different grape varieties find ideal conditions to produce a wine where elegance and finesse prevail over strength and structure.
“Turpino” is a mosaic composed of different terroirs, absolutely not to be missed.
