Valgella Riserva 2005 – Balgera
45,00 €
Balgera’s Valtellina Superiore Riserva Valgella DOCG is born about 500 meters above sea level on the steep terraces of Valtellina. Thanks to long aging in wood and glass, it has great structure and elegance.
The nose gives aromas of dark fruits and spices, characterized by definite mineral notes in the background. The palate offers good correspondence and an intense and engaging sip. A wine endowed with great minerality due to the fact that the soils in the Valgella area are very deep and the roots go deep to pick up minerality. It ages 5 years in large oak barrels.

Description
Valtellina Superiore “Valgella” Riserva comes from vineyards in the commune of Teglio, part of the “Valgella” subzone.
Grapes are picked by hand and selected, fermentation, with maceration for 10-12 days, is spontaneous, and maturation takes place in oak barrels for 2 years and small barrels for an equal 2 years. It finally rests in the bottle for about 12 months.
To the eye, garnet red in color. The nose relaxes on aromas of strawberry and raspberry and dried flowers, with hints of spice and mineral hints. On the sip, the wine is superb and shows great charm: silky tannins, round body, impeccable balance. Closes harmonious and fine.
Balgera’s Valtellina Superiore Valgella Riserva pairs well with red meats and aged cheeses. Excellent with pizzoccheri.
